I've had this machine for a little over 3 months and I have to say it has absolutely transformed my life and floors! We are a household of 2 adults (both disabled) 4 house only felines and our 4 yr old grandaughter who stays overnight regularly.
Before purchasing this device we would either have to struggle to vacuum and mop ourselves especially when having a "bad pain day" or have a cleaner come in to clean our floors. We would have to rely on a cleaner more regularly over the winter months as the cold weather would heighten our pain levels which costs would soon mount up!
We deliberated for some time about investing in a robot that could vacuum and mop downstairs for us. We was concerned that with us having extremely thick and deep piled carpet and a high piled rug in our living room that it wouldn't be able to clean these to a high standard or just get stuck and unable to move. But ultimately decided it would be more cost effective rather than to keep paying a cleaner to come in on extra days just to vac our downstairs. (If of course it could cope with the thick carpet/rug).
We researched and looked online at lots of different makes/models and ultimately decided on the Dreame l20 Ultra. Two main resons being the specs of the model and the price of the device. Where we found other models/makes were more expensive for similar robots with the similar specs.
We needn't of worried whether the L20 Ultra would struggle with our flooring in the living room as it tackled it with ease! Our kitchen, hallway and downstairs wc has hard flooring which the l20 ultra tackles with ease doing an excellent job of bith vacuuming and mopping and the side brush, and moveable mop heads clean right upto the edges and corners. The floors were constantly full of "bits" from the 🐈's so vacuuming the floors is a daily task, even 2/3 times a day depending on how messy the fur babies have been on any 1 day! Our grandaughter is also very creative and loves making jewellery and drawing/painting and using glitter to make some lovely artwork.This can also at times be quite messy on the floor. Even after using a floor covering in an attempt to keep the mess and bits off the carpet some does transfer onto the carpet or hard floors. Previously we either had to "ignore" the mess and wait until the cleaner came in or struggle to vacuum/mop the mess up ourselves. This is now a thing of the past! Now we don't have to wait or struggle we just get our L20 to tackle the task which it does effortlessly! Our floors have never looked so clean and tidy!
We recently had a small issue with the L20. We recently moved home and unfortunately the removalists we used somehow managed to lose the ramp/docking station plate that attaches to the front of the dock to enable the robot to dock/charge/empty and prepare the mopping process. It meant that the robot was having difficulty in being able to dock successfully and we was having to "assist" the robot back onto the dock which was somewhat a bit of an inconvenience especially if we wanted to complete the vac/mop task overnight while we were sleeping. Because the robot couldn't dock without help it meant it wasn't able to empty or fill the robot with the cleaning solution, water and mop heads. So it meant it was best to only run the robot while we was either at home or awake to assist with the docking. I searched relentlessly online for a replacement but to no avail. I then contacted Deame's customer services directly explaining our issue. They were absolutely fantastic.They sourced a replacement, sent it out by next day delivery and our robot was fully functional again. We can once again run the robot either overnight while we are sleeping or while we are out. So we can wake up or come home to nice clean floors again.
Would I recommend the Dreame L20 Ultra? Absolutely. Yes it's a big investment however in our case it will literally pay for itself in no time with the money we save not having to pay for a cleaner as regularly as we were having to do before purchasing the L20 Ultra. It's extremely easy to use. The mapping process was simple and very quick. The vacuuming and mopping is of a very high standard and we love the fact that you can easily select for the robot to do a more intense clean when the floors are dirtier than usual. The app is extremely easy to use, and has step by step instructions and troubleshooting guides for any issues that may arise (we havent had any issues except for the ramp issue which wasnt the devices fault!). Voice control via Alexa or Google is easy to setup and is great if you don't have your phone to hand. I am extremely happy with this purchase and also extremely happy with the customer service after sales help we received. So if you are like us a few months ago considering purchasing a robot vac/mop then I would highly recommend the L20 Ultra not only for the cleaning capabilities but also the price. Love this machine and it’s been working great for me over the last 6 months. But I’m trying to find somewhere I can order the auto water refill and auto water empty system from. So far Dreame sales teams are just useless, with no information and can’t help. This makes no sense as you can order this in some countries. Why not the uk.
After years with a roomba, I am blown away by the quality of the l20. Super fast setup, great mapping, great cleaning. I’m impressed.
It is very smart & intuitive. It has worked well for me.
I have had two other automatic vacuum cleaners but this is by far the best! I live on a farm and have dogs in my house. I love a clean floor so I scheduled it to run every day. It does a great job and I love all the touch free features.
