Overall great robot. - Decent navigation especially obstacle avoidance - so far it has not chewed up any cable or socks. - does a decent job. I have a black lab - and you would struggle to find a dog hair in my house. - it has lights so you can order it to work during the night without having to leave the house lights on! How brilliant ! And it is way quieter than iRobot ! - station is best in class - washes mop at 70 which is so important! Drying takes a long time and mops do turn into hard sheets of paper afterwards but then it wets them before use so no issue. I bought this when my iRobot i7 struggle to dock and empty itself - which was such a primitive problem in comparison! - This machine is a dream overall, great for daily maintenance. easy to use with app full of customisation - has video function so you can cruise it around the house for security or find you pet - but don’t expect high def. - i have not worked out how to map more room yet but I’m sure there is a way? It does multi level which is great, but you got to move machine manually. The areas can be improved are: - side brush does not get activated on carpet/rug, so if you have a slim rug running along between kitchen island and wall cabinets, leaving only a small strip of tiles then it struggles to pick up crumbs in those areas which is annoying - because those are the dirtiest bits. The coverage and performance of vacuums is better with iRobot in this regard. I am sure this is fixable via software update - please hurry! Also it cannot detect animal skin tug (if that’s your thing) and will happily mop it over. - during a clean, if you try to remove a rug out of its way for the above reason , it does not work. It still thinks there is a rug! You have to cancel the clean and request a new clean to have it refresh its recognition - it appears to take a really long time to do the job if you use deep clean. Highest record was 92minutes for 42 m2, and I stopped it there when it tried to go back for second clean. - when the robot is working, the app does not tell you what job it is doing - would be helpful if it does. - it does not clean the full room on some occasions, so maybe not clever enough to wiggle its way if you accidentally forgot to remove a large obstacle in its way of travel - not sure how they differentiate something on the floor is rubbish or things to avoid. It, at times, has not picked up small crumbs of leaves. Something to improve with its AI recognition. It also thought a tennis ball was pet poo - vacuum function does not come with intensive pattern (the mop does). So areas can be missed. - I tested its ability to mop up ketchup on the floor - result not ideal. The side brush did run over the sauce at first, and I had to manually wipe the side brush. Robot cannot clean away all of the sauce. After commanding the robot to mop the zone three times, it was evident that there is gap in its navigation and as it keeps on missing an area. That said, I never leave ketchup on the floor as I would just clean it manually straight away. So it doesn’t bother me that much. - it does not tell you how long a clean will take when you initiate a one off clean or schedule a regular clean - it would be helpful to have that - they need to hurry up to stock up the accessories such as cleaning detergent, the tri-cut brush in the UK market, currently no accessories are available as I understand they had just launched. But it’s been a month, shipping does not take that long. I hope they are committed to the UK market. So overall, I think it is a brilliant robot, plenty of customisation, excellent mopping and I love that it cleans my mop at 70 degree (although I cannot actually confirm it is the case), the mop looks clean after a few days and water looks dirty. I do think it has room to improve, as mentioned above but hopefully via software update not an actual upgrade of machine. It is a pricey machine, but you cannot buy anything better for less currently in the market. I rang up their landline to see how quickly they answer the phone as customer service is a very important consideration for me. That said, the UK landline provided only deals with 14days after sales. Beyond that, email support apparently. I truly think after sales service would be a big differentiating factor for many and for expanding their market share. I would highly recommend this machine, as it beats others in the market. It truly empties (bust bin) and cleans (mops) itself. So a real hands free experience.
My experience with Dreame x40 Ultra Complete is a few days. The device is definitely quieter than IRobot Roomba, it definitely wash floors better and you can see the effects immediately after mopping. The docking station looks elegant and fulfills its function perfectly. However, as for a Premium device, it has one BIG MINUS - No brush operation on carpets( that's why 4 not 5 stars). I hope that will fix it with an update.
Very pleased with the vacuum, incredibly easy to use and does a great job
My only wish would be regarding dog hair. It needs to go back to empty the canister more often and there is no way to set that in the app other than that, it’s wonderful!
For that price I think the features, ease of use, and effectiveness are worth it. I've had mine for about a month and had extremely high expectations for the price. The app, robot, and base station have worked flawlessly so far, the vacuuming, mopping, and other marketed features are genuine and not gimmicks (mop pad cleaning, obstacle avoidance, etc). I also have a dog so being able to use the front facing camera to spy on my dog while I'm away and even talk and listen through it is extremely useful and one of the reasons I went with this robot. The vast customization of cleaning behavior is impressive as well. Highly recommend if you have the budget. Replacement filters, bags, and brushes seem to be readily inexpensive and available too.
